Counter Server – Farinolio

Location: Summit, NJ
Position: Counter Server / Kitchen Support

Farinolio is looking for a friendly, reliable, and motivated Counter Server to join our team at our Summit, NJ location. We are an Italian café and bakery focused on quality food, warm hospitality, and creating a welcoming experience for our guests.

This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and is also willing to learn different areas of the business. While the primary role is counter service, all counter servers will also be cross-trained in the kitchen to assist with food preparation and operations when needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, attentive counter service
• Take and accurately enter customer orders
• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso beverages, pastries, sandwiches, and other menu items
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked front counter and dining area
• Learn Farinolio’s menu, ingredients, and products to confidently answer guest questions
• Assist with opening and closing responsibilities
• Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
• Cross-train in the kitchen and assist with food preparation when needed
• Help prepare, organize, package, and fulfill catering orders
• Assist with larger orders, events, and other operational needs
• Work collaboratively with both front-of-house and kitchen team members
• Help maintain Farinolio’s standards for hospitality, presentation, and product quality

• Availability to work scheduled shifts, including weekends as needed
• Reliable transportation is required
• Flexibility to assist at either Farinolio location when business needs require it
• Previous restaurant, café, bakery, barista, or food-service experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate

Because our team works closely across all areas of the business, flexibility and a willingness to learn are important parts of the role.

We are looking for someone who wants to become a valuable part of the Farinolio team and is excited to learn both the guest-service and culinary sides of our operation.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 40.0 per week
