Counter Help/Barista

This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in retail transactions, and beverage preparation within a vibrant setting. Must be available nights and weekends. We are specifically hiring for part time (10-20 hours) nights & weekends.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist with their orders at the counter, ensuring a positive experience from start to finish
• Prepare a variety of non-alcoholic beverages such as coffee, tea, and specialty drinks with precision and care
• Handle retail sales transactions accurately using POS systems like Square, including processing cash and card payments
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area, equipment, and dining space through regular cleaning and sanitation practices
• Manage beverage service and drink presentation to meet quality standards while ensuring timely delivery
• Support inventory management by restocking supplies and monitoring stock levels to prevent shortages

Experience

• Prior experience in food service or café environments is highly preferred, especially with barista duties or coffee preparation
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Square to efficiently process transactions
• Strong customer service skills with an energetic attitude that engages guests positively
• Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and managing sales totals accurately
• Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling techniques to ensure quality and compliance
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting while demonstrating excellent time management skills
• Previous experience in retail sales transactions or cashiering roles is advantageous
