Counter Sales Representative

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Counter Sales Representative to join our fastener and industrial supply team. This position is responsible for assisting customers at the sales counter and incoming calls, identifying their fastener and hardware needs, preparing orders, processing sales, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers at the sales counter and by phone.
• Identify and recommend the correct fasteners, hardware, tools, and related products based on customer requirements.
• Pull, package, and prepare customer orders accurately.
• Provide product information, pricing, availability, and lead-time information.
• Enter sales orders and invoices into the company’s computer system.
• Maintain accurate inventory and assist with stocking and organizing products.
• Work with inside and outside sales teams to meet customer needs.
• Follow up on quotes, special orders, and backordered products.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe sales-counter and warehouse area.
• Perform other sales and customer-service duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in counter sales, inside sales, customer service, or industrial distribution preferred.
• Knowledge of fasteners, nuts, bolts, screws, fittings, or industrial hardware is a plus.
• Strong customer-service and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory/sales software.
• Ability to read product descriptions, sizes, measurements, and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift and move boxes or product as required.

Preferred Experience

Experience with industrial fasteners, construction supplies, manufacturing, MRO products, or hardware distribution is highly desirable.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
