Counter Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Counter Supervisor to join the team at Ace Hardware Phils., Inc in SM City Clark Branch. This is a full-time position based at our retail location, where you will play a crucial role in overseeing counter operations and delivering exceptional customer service. As Counter Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities at the counter, supervising staff, and ensuring that our customers receive the highest standard of service and product knowledge. This role is integral to maintaining store operations and driving customer satisfaction and sales performance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage counter staff, ensuring they maintain high standards of customer service and product knowledge

• Monitor counter transactions and ensure accuracy of cash handling and point-of-sale procedures

• Assist customers with product selection, pricing information, and general enquiries related to hardware and retail merchandise

• Maintain neat and organised counter displays and merchandise areas in accordance with company standards

• Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately using the point-of-sale system

• Handle customer complaints and concerns professionally, resolving issues in a timely manner

• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash reconciliation and till balancing

• Train and mentor counter staff on product features, customer service techniques, and company policies

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working in a retail environment, with at least 2–3 years in a customer-facing role or supervisory capacity

• Strong knowledge of hardware products, tools, and building materials, or demonstrable ability to quickly learn product lines

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and staff

• Solid numeracy skills and experience with point-of-sale systems and cash handling

• Leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and support team members

• Attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude towards work and customer service
