JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Country Corner Associate

Reports to: Country Corner Assistant Manager

Classification: Full-Time, Hourly

Supervisory Responsibilities: No Direct Reports

Summary:

Responsible for selling Country Corner store products in a manner that maximizes the cooperative’s market share and

savings, improves operational efficiency, supports the cooperative’s mission and goals, and delivers outstanding customer

service.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Complete all orientation, safety, customer service, forklift, and propane trainings offered by Legacy, while

promoting a culture of safety.

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, assisting with locating and loading products, and

offering a friendly and helpful experience.

• Handle customer phone calls, inquiries, and orders promptly and courteously.
• Operate the point-of-sale system and time clock system accurately.
• Learn Legacy’s products and services through sales trainings and guidance from co-workers and managers.
• Stock inventory, maintain a neat and orderly store, and notify management of low inventory products.
• Begin to learn store opening and closing procedures and protocols.
• Assist in maintaining grounds in and around the store and office.
• Begin to learn customer delivery protocols.
• Complete and understand propane safety training and practices.
• Work collaboratively with others, communicate clearly, and support team members.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional relevant work experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of the lawn and pet industry to answer basic customer questions is a plus.
• Adhere to the Cooperative’s policies, including the Cooperative Credit Policy.
• Position requires a full range of body motion, including bending, squatting, and twisting; must be able to lift up to

50 lbs. and reach above shoulder level.

Miscellaneous Responsibilities & Preferred Experience:

• Standard work week is Monday through Saturday morning; business needs may occasionally require exceptions.
• Employment is contingent upon a negative drug test; applicants must consent to testing as a condition of

employment.

• Maintain a valid driving record.
