What they need

Dear candidate,

My name is Daniil and I am the founder of Buzz. I have personally crafted this job description, since I believe in the importance of honesty and connection between the whole team.

Buzz is a start-up in its scaling phase. We are a power bank sharing company with more than 600 locations across the Netherlands and Spain.

A customer can rent a power bank in a bar, restaurant, mall, airport, or venue and return it at any other Buzz station across the country.

I personally value speed, honesty, simplicity and focus on results. We are only looking for ambitious people that are ready to take on ownership. We are customer oriented and our goal is to help millions of people with low battery stress across Europe.

To drive our rapid growth, we seek a Country Manager to work side by side with me and our COO, owning strategy, P&L, sales, operations, and overall market performance in the Netherlands.

This is not an easy role with a lot of responsibilities, we are looking for the most committed, proactive individuals ready to stand by their results.

Role Mission

Own, launch, scale, and optimize Buzz operations and commercial performance in your country.

As Country Manager, you act as the General Manager for the market - responsible for P&L, sales pipelines, operations, station deployment, partner development, financial discipline, and reporting to HQ.

Key responsibilities

1. Country Strategy & Market Growth

Build and execute the go-to-market strategy for your country.

Define coverage expansion: cities, districts, priority zones, high-traffic clusters (airports, transport hubs, malls, HoReCa districts).

Establish annual and quarterly targets for revenue, EBITDA, stations deployed, unit economics, and partner acquisition.

2. Build & Lead the Sales organization

Establish a high-performing sales structure: BizDev managers, KAMs, franchise partners (if applicable).

Oversee the full pipeline and ensure predictable growth:

  • lead generation and qualification
  • partner acquisition
  • contract negotiation
  • installation and activation

Personally own relationships with strategic accounts: hotel chains, retail groups, malls, airport authorities, HoReCa chains, event venues.

KPIs you own:

  • Stations installed and activated
  • Conversion: lead → contract → installation → active revenue
  • Regional ARPS and revenue growth
  • EBITDA

3. Operational excellence

Lead all operational processes in the country: installation, maintenance, SLA execution, logistics, and inventory.

Guarantee station performance and uptime across the entire country.

Manage operational KPIs:

  • uptime %
  • non-return rate (NRR)
  • Tap vs App usage ratio
  • fee leakage
  • installation speed & time-to-first-rent
  • Ensure BUZZ branding, service quality, and technical standards are met across all locations.
  • Oversee local support & field technicians.

4. Financial ownership & P&L management

Full responsibility for the country's P&L and financial discipline.

Budget planning, forecasting, cost control, vendor contracting.

Evaluate profitability per city, region, station type, and partner category.

Apply unit economics to inform decisions on:

  • where to deploy stations
  • when to relocate underperforming locations
  • where to scale aggressively

5. Team Leadership

Hire, onboard, manage, and develop the local sales and operations teams.

Set clear goals and KPIs; run performance reviews and weekly business reviews.

Build a culture of accountability, speed, and ownership.

Coach your team on negotiation, partner management, CRM discipline, and operational best practices.

6. CRM, Data, and reporting to HQ

Own CRM accuracy and completeness across sales and operations.

Lead weekly/monthly reporting to HQ on:

  • sales performance
  • installations and activation metrics
  • operational issues and SLA compliance
  • partner feedback
  • financial KPIs and forecasts
  • Implement global Buzz standards for processes, data, service levels, and compliance.

7. Strategic partnerships & business development

Build and maintain long-term partnerships with:

  • retail/HoReCA groups
  • hotel chains
  • malls & developers
  • airport & transport authorities
  • event & entertainment organisers

Who we are looking for

  • Experience & Competencies
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in sales, operations, business development or general management.
  • Proven track record in high-growth environments: tech, mobility, telecom, retail, HoReCa, vending, POS solutions, or infrastructure-based services.
  • Strong command of P&L management, budgeting, revenue planning, and financial modeling.
  • Ability to build teams and systems from scratch; ability to scale processes and manage multiple workstreams.
  • Experience negotiating with top-tier partners: hotel chains, retail conglomerates, airports, developers, international groups.
  • Highly data-driven and process-oriented.

Leadership qualities

  • Ownership mindset - you act as the CEO of your country.
  • Strategic thinker with strong operational instincts (“roll up your sleeves” attitude).
  • Excellent communication and executive presence; comfortable with C-level negotiations.
  • Strong leadership energy: ability to inspire, push, and develop people.
  • Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous, scaling environments.

What we offer

Lead Buzz in your country - effectively operate as the GM of the market.

Shape strategy, build the team, and scale the network across the country.

High autonomy and direct access to founders / HQ leadership.

Compensation structure:

  • competitive base
  • performance bonus tied to P&L and strategic wins
  • additional rewards for anchor partnerships and market expansion milestones
  • Opportunities to grow into Regional Director / Global Expansion Lead.
  • Strong operational backbone: CRM, materials, installation team, brand assets, data.

How to apply

Please send:

  • Your CV
  • A short cover letter highlighting major achievements (markets launched, sales scaled, major partnerships closed) include the phrase “I am the best CM for Buzz”
  • Your expected compensation package

Other offers great for you!
