Courier Driver

Job Summary

Direct Link Haulage is a growing Edinburgh-based courier and haulage company. We run contracted network routes for major carriers alongside same-day and scheduled local deliveries. We're looking for a reliable driver to join our small, hands-on team.

Responsibilities

• Collecting and delivering parcels and freight across Edinburgh and the surrounding area on scheduled routes
• Loading and unloading your vehicle safely, checking items against paperwork/scans
• Carrying out a basic daily vehicle check (tyres, lights, mirrors) before setting off
• Communicating directly with the team if a delivery is delayed or there's an issue on the road
• Representing the company professionally with customers at each drop
• Using a handheld device or app to scan, track, and confirm deliveries in real time
• Obtaining signatures or delivery confirmation as required, and photographing proof of delivery where needed
• Dealing professionally and courteously with customers at each drop, including handling occasional queries or complaints calmly
• Keeping the vehicle clean, tidy, and secure, and reporting any damage or maintenance needs promptly
• Completing basic paperwork or digital logs at the end of each shift (mileage, deliveries completed, any incidents)
• Following all road safety, working-time, and company procedures at all times

Qualifications

• Full, valid UK driving licence, held for at least 2 years
• No more than 6 penalty points, and no disqualifications within the last 5 years
• Right to work in the UK
• Comfortable using a smartphone or handheld device for scanning, navigation, and confirming deliveries
• Physically able to lift, carry, and manoeuvre parcels and packages of varying weights and sizes throughout a shift
• Good spoken English for communicating with customers and the team
• Previous experience as a courier, delivery driver, or in a similar driving role
• Experience with route-planning or delivery-tracking apps
• A clean driving record with no at-fault accidents in the last 3 years

Pay: £105.00-£120.00 per day
