Courier Driver

Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial vehicles, including vans, trucks, or heavy equipment, to deliver freight and packages to various locations.
• Plan efficient delivery routes to maximize productivity and meet delivery deadlines.
• Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or hand trucks, ensuring proper handling and safety procedures.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are maintained.
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs, receipts, and delivery confirmations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery statuses or any issues encountered during routes.
• Assist with basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to keep vehicles in optimal condition.

Requirements

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or appropriate licensing for the vehicle type.
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts or other industrial machinery is preferred.
• Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols.
• Ability to operate automotive repair tools and perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and route planning.
• Physical ability to lift heavy freight, operate heavy equipment, and perform manual loading/unloading tasks.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating deliveries and ensuring customer satisfaction.
