Navitat Canopy Adventures, the aerial adventure zip line course in South Knoxville, is hiring for a Course Manager based at Ijams Nature Center.

Job summary:

On weekends through the fall and winter, the Course Manager is responsible for the operational aspects of the aerial adventure course and its associated operational facets. Scheduling, supervising and training staff, and operating the course will be the primary role(s) of this position. This position is responsible for opening and closing the course, and working directly on course as a guide to ensure a low-risk and positive course experience for all guests is also a primary role. It will require dedicated ownership of the course, the staff and the grounds. The ability to climb, inspect, and maintain the course, excellent customer service skills, and strong relationship-building will be required for success in this position. The position will require hard physical labor at times, and will often require working in a variety of outdoor situations. Lastly, this position will require initial and ongoing training related to best practices in the aerial adventure industry.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Operate the Treetop Zipline Adventure and associated activities.

· Schedule, supervise, and provide ongoing training to staff.

· Reduce risk through a wide variety of methods.

· Cultivate an excellent customer experience for guests while on site.

· Supervise and consistently improve and cross check the documentation process for course inspection, incident reporting, training regimens, etc.

· Manage efficient check-in process, receiving guests and solving issues at the front desk

Secondary Responsibilities:

· Collaboration with Ijams Nature Center staff to execute job duties

· Collaborate with Sales Director in sales and client relations efforts and maintain positive relations with stakeholders in the local community and surrounding region

Requirements:

· MUST be available Saturdays and Sundays throughout the fall and holiday season.

· High proficiency in staff management

· Comfortable working at height

· Ability to work every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

· Ability to work in a high-paced, at times stressful, environment

· Desire to work an outdoor job in Knoxville TN

· Desire to connect with guests and to empower guest-staff interactions

· Ability to foresee and calmly manage guest conflicts

· Must have experience in successfully implementing various outdoor or sports-based programs

· Strongly skilled in verbal communication, with ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives

Compensation:

· 24-28 / hr depending on experience
