CQA Field Technician

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Youngstown, OH.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform field sampling and quality control/quality assurance testing on soils, aggregates, asphalt, and concrete in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, ODOT, and PennDOT procedures.
• Conduct moisture-density testing for soil and asphalt compaction.
• Monitor and document concrete placement, slump, air content, temperature, and unit weight; prepare, cure, and test concrete specimens.
• Conduct footing inspections, floor slab inspections, subgrade inspections, and proof roll inspections to verify compliance with project specifications.
• Collect representative samples of construction materials for laboratory testing.
• Maintain precise, legible field logs and test reports.
• Properly maintain, calibrate, and transport testing equipment.
• Represent the company in a professional manner when interacting with clients, contractors, and the public.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Working toward a degree in civil engineering, geology, construction, or related field (preferred but not required)
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications (will train)
• Ability to obtain necessary certifications through the company.
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work outdoors in varying weather, and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation.
