About Surgical Recovery
Surgical Recovery (SR) is a CQC-registered, physician-led perioperative care provider delivering personalised clinical care before and after surgery, as well as rehabilitation following hospital admission.
We provide care in patients’ homes and remotely, working alongside surgeons, hospitals, private GPs and other healthcare professionals. Our multidisciplinary team includes doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, speech and language therapists, psychologists and other allied healthcare professionals.
As SR continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced CQC Registered Manager to lead our regulatory, governance and quality framework and ensure that our services continue to meet the highest standards of patient care and compliance.
The Role
The CQC Registered Manager will have overall responsibility for the effective management of SR’s regulated activities, ensuring that our clinical services are safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
You will work closely with the Directors and clinical team to maintain strong governance, develop robust systems and processes, and ensure SR remains compliant with CQC requirements as the organisation expands.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable working within a growing healthcare organisation and who can combine regulatory expertise with practical problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
CQC & Regulatory Compliance
- Act as the Registered Manager for SR’s regulated activities.
- Maintain compliance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and relevant CQC regulations and guidance.
- Maintain SR’s policies, procedures and regulatory documentation.
- Prepare for and lead CQC inspections and regulatory reviews.
- Monitor changes to CQC requirements and ensure these are implemented appropriately.
- Maintain accurate records and evidence of compliance.
Clinical Governance & Quality
- Lead SR’s quality assurance and clinical governance framework.
- Establish and monitor appropriate quality and performance indicators.
- Oversee incident reporting, investigation and learning.
- Manage complaints, concerns, safeguarding matters and other quality issues.
- Ensure appropriate clinical audits are undertaken and acted upon.
- Support the development and review of risk assessments and risk registers.
- Ensure learning from incidents, complaints and audits is embedded into practice.
- Promote a strong culture of continuous improvement and patient safety.
People & Workforce
- Ensure appropriate recruitment, induction, training and ongoing competency processes are in place.
- Maintain oversight of staff and clinician compliance, including professional registration, DBS, references, training and competency records.
- Support managers and clinicians with performance, conduct and quality issues where required.
- Ensure appropriate staffing and clinical governance arrangements are maintained as the service grows.
Patient Safety & Safeguarding
- Ensure robust systems are in place for safeguarding adults and children where relevant to the service.
- Oversee clinical risk management and escalation processes.
- Ensure patients receive safe, appropriate and person-centred care.
- Monitor feedback and patient experience and identify opportunities for improvement.
Operational Governance
- Work with the Directors and clinical leads to ensure operational processes support safe and compliant care.
- Review and improve systems for referrals, care planning, clinical documentation, communication and discharge.
- Ensure appropriate oversight of clinicians working in patients’ homes and community settings.
- Support the development of new services and pathways from a regulatory and governance perspective.

We are looking for an experienced healthcare professional with a strong understanding of CQC regulation, clinical governance and quality management.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a CQC Registered Manager, Deputy Registered Manager, Clinical Governance Lead or equivalent senior healthcare role.
