Cradle Operator – Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate suspended access equipment/cradles safely for external building works.
• Carry out daily inspection of the cradle, wire ropes, safety devices, controls, and related equipment before use.
• Ensure the cradle is properly secured and safe before starting operations.
• Transport workers, tools, and materials within the permitted load capacity.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and coordinate with the team during façade, cleaning, painting, maintenance, or repair works.
• Report any equipment defects, unusual sounds, or unsafe conditions immediately.
• Maintain proper housekeeping around the cradle operating area.
• Follow all company HSE requirements, work-at-height procedures, and site safety rules.
• Use the required PPE and ensure safety harnesses and lifelines are properly used.
• Do not operate the cradle during unsafe weather conditions or when instructed to stop work.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Cradle Operator or in suspended access equipment operation.
• Knowledge of basic cradle safety procedures and work-at-height requirements.
• Valid training/certification for cradle operation or working at height, where required.
• Physically fit and comfortable working at heights.
• Able to follow safety instructions and work effectively with the site team.
