Crane Engineer Surveyor - Somerset

£45p/h (outside IR35) + average 40hr standard billing week + expenses + overtime + collaborative & supportive team environment + 12–36-month site-based contract

A leading global Professional Services organisation is looking to engage with an experienced Crane Engineer Surveyor to join their team in Somerset on a long-term contract basis

Crane Engineer Surveyor remit;

• Undertake 3rd party inspections of various types of Cranes and other Lifting Equipment (as required) under statutory requirements LOLER 9 (2), PUWER and H&S compliance
• Equipment includes Tower Cranes, Mobiles Cranes, Overhead Gantry Cranes and other related lifting equipment
• Inspections include a Crane’s Structural Steelwork, Hoist & Drive Mechanisms, Ropes and Chains, Functional Safety Tests, Load Management, Controls and Markings and Foundations and Anchorages
• Produce comprehensive and detailed inspection reports
• Build and maintain long-term client relationships with internal & external teams

Crane Engineer Surveyor profile;

• NVQ4, HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline.
• LEEA specialized credentials covering areas like Lifting Gear General, Lifting Machines, and Mobile or Overhead Cranes.
• Deep understanding of LOLER 9 (2), LOLER 1998 (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations), PUWER & H&S compliance standards.
• Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): Level II certifications (such as MPI or DPI) for weld and structural crack detection
• A valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card for working on active construction sites.
• Ability to work at height, access tight crane structures, and perform physical load and functional tests
• Accurate and timely reporting experience
• Confident verbal & written communication skills
• A full UK driving licence & use of own car
• A willingness to work various shift patterns including days, nights & weekends
