Crane Operator/mechanic

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Crane Operator/Mechanic to join our construction team. This versatile role involves operating cranes to facilitate lifting and movement of materials on-site, as well as performing maintenance and repairs on crane equipment. When not operating the crane(s), the individual will assist with various other jobsite tasks, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of our operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of crane operation, mechanical skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Duties

• Operate cranes safely and efficiently to lift, move, and position materials according to project specifications.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on crane equipment to ensure optimal functioning and safety compliance.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues with cranes and perform necessary repairs or coordinate with specialized technicians.
• When not operating cranes, assist with other jobsite tasks such as site cleanup, material handling, or assisting crew members as needed.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others.
• Document maintenance activities and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating cranes in a construction or industrial setting.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance on crane equipment.
• Valid CDL certification
• Strong understanding of safety standards related to crane operation and construction sites.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing, and working at heights.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Flexibility to perform various jobsite tasks when not operating the crane(s).
• Reliable work ethic with attention to detail and safety consciousness.

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
