About us

Mintmedia House is a kolkata-based creative studio that makes SaaS products look inevitable.

We build UI animation videos, product launch films, and motion ad creatives for venture-backed startups — mostly YC companies and Seed-to-Series-A teams in the US and Europe. Our launch work has crossed 1M+ impressions. Founders come to us when they have four weeks until launch and one shot at a first impression.

The role

We're hiring our first Creative Director to own the creative vision across everything we ship — for our clients and for ourselves.

This is not a role where you inherit a playbook. You'll define the studio's visual point of view, set the bar on every frame that leaves this building, and be the person a founder trusts to translate a half-formed product idea into something people stop scrolling for.

You'll be hands-on. You'll direct, but you'll also open After Effects.

What you'll do

• Own the creative direction for client projects end to end — from brief and concept through storyboard, style frames, and final grade.
• Build brand identity systems for early-stage startups: visual language, type, color, motion behaviour, and the guidelines that keep it consistent after we hand it off.
• Set and defend the craft bar. Review every deliverable. Give sharp, specific feedback. Kill work that's merely fine.
• Lead client conversations — pitch concepts, present rationale, absorb feedback, and push back when the idea is right.
• Direct campaign work — launch campaigns, paid social creative, content series — so that individual assets ladder up to one coherent story.
• Develop Mintmedia's own brand voice and output — our reel, our site, our social presence. We're our own best case study.
• Build the creative team. Hire, brief, and mentor editors and motion designers as we grow. Turn your taste into a system others can execute.

What we're looking for

• 4+ years in motion design, brand design, or creative direction — with at least a year directing others' work, not just producing your own.
• A reel that argues for itself. We care more about ten seconds of exceptional motion than a hundred slides of process.
• Real fluency in After Effects. Figma too. Cinema 4D / Blender is a plus.
• A genuine point of view on motion. You have opinions about timing, easing, weight, and restraint — and you can explain why, not just feel it.
• Brand thinking, not just execution. You can look at a product and articulate what it should feel like before you decide what it should look like.
• Comfort with SaaS and product interfaces. You understand what a dashboard is trying to do before you animate it.
• Strong written and spoken English. You'll be presenting to US and European founders directly.
• Ownership instinct. In a small studio, nobody hands you a scoped ticket. You spot the gap and close it.

Nice to have

• Experience working with YC or early-stage venture-backed companies
• Illustration, 3D, or sound design chops
• A personal body of work — a portfolio site, a design practice online, side projects you cared about

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
