Creative Director (Videographer)

This is the dream creative director job.

You will be embedded inside Fastlane, camera in hand, capturing everything that happens as we build a unicorn: product launches, strategy sessions, late nights, customer visits, arguments, wins, failures, trips, off-sites, etc. Then you'll turn it into the most interesting stories in startup.

You will own the cinematic side of Fastlane's content - long form, high-quality horizontal short-form, founder storytelling, behind the scenes, etc. You will have full autonomy to go and find the story yourself, know when to pull the camera out, ask the right questions, and make art from the the raw inputs.

The goal is to make Fastlane the most addictive startup series in the world to watch. This is a role for someone exceptional - we're aiming to be a unicorn in 18 months, and you will be a core part of that having documented the entire thing from the early days.

Experience:

• You are an exceptional videographer with a cinematic eye
• You are a strong storyteller with an instinct for what will be the most compelling for people to watch
• You shoot, edit, colour grade and sound design your own work. You understand pacing, music, framing and the tiny details that make something feel expensive
• You are equally comfortable making a 30-second cinematic piece and a 15-minute YouTube video
• You have an extremely high quality bar and can explain the little details of the creative decisions you’ve made

The role:

• Owning Fastlane's cinematic content: long-form, horizontal short-form, founder story-led pieces, behind the scenes, etc
• Capturing what actually happens inside the company, constantly: launches, strategy sessions, customer visits, milestones, off-sites and travel
• Taking a story from idea through shooting, editing, sound, colour and final cut
• Turning long-form footage into cuts for Fastlane and the founders' personal accounts
• Building and maintaining the archive of everything we shoot
• Developing Fastlane's visual language as the company grows
• Owning the quality bar for everything cinematic that leaves the company

You'll run Fastlane's content engine side by side with our Head of Content and the founders - developing ideas, planning the calendar, deciding what gets made and posted. They own the fast, vertical, social-native side, and you own the cinematic, horizontal side. The strategy and schedule will be built together.
