What they need
We do things a bit differently here
Ando is a down-to-earth insurer that believes insurance should be a relationship, not a transaction. And that starts with getting the basics right.
Never worked in insurance? Good news: debits and credits work pretty much the same here. The difference is what they mean.
At Ando, getting premiums allocated correctly means New Zealanders stay covered when life throws a curveball. So while you're chasing that last unmatched payment, you're quietly doing something that matters.
The role
We're looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join our friendly & supportive team of 6 on a 10-month fixed term contract. As part of our Credit Control team, you’ll play an important part in supporting Ando’s goals by helping keep our financial operations running smoothly. You’ll focus on accurate and timely premium allocations, reducing outstanding payments and unallocated cash, and continuously improving the way we work.
This is a hands-on role where attention to detail, strong relationships, and a proactive mindset really matter.
What you'll be doing
- Processing daily premium receipt allocations and completing bank reconciliations
- Managing unallocated cash and following up on unpaid or unmatched items
- Analysing overdue premium receivables and working closely with brokers to resolve issues
- Reconciling customer and broker accounts and investigating discrepancies
- Responding to internal and external queries with a helpful, solutions-focused approach
- Preparing aged debtor reporting and identifying opportunities to improve credit control processes
You’ll bring:
- Strong (ideally 5+ years') experience in a Credit Control or Accounts Receivable role
- A solid understanding of payment allocation, debtors management, and reconciliation processes
- Experience working with allocation systems and managing unallocated cash
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Confident communication and a customer-focused approach when working with stakeholders
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Previous experience working in the insurance industry is desirable, but not essential provided you tick most of the other boxes! Grappler experience is also advantageous.
Why Ando?
If you thrive in a welcoming, non-hierarchical, relaxed and fun environment where we are all treated as people and not as a number - then we reckon it's hard to top Ando!
This role is based in our brand new Wynyard Quarter offices, complete with complimentary access to reformer Pilates, a gym, sauna and even a golf simulator!
We offer a highly flexible work environment with 2-3 days in the office per week. You'll also enjoy 50% off AT public transport to help your commute and a $500 annual wellbeing allowance.
If this sounds like you - jump in! To apply, you'll need to hold a valid right to work in New Zealand for the full length of this 10-month contract.
Other offers great for you!
