Credit Controller

Overview

We're looking for an experienced Credit Controller / Sales Ledger Administrator to join our growing Finance team. Managing a customer ledger of approximately £1.8m - £2.0m per month across 500-700 accounts, you'll play a key role in maintaining cash flow whilst building strong relationships with both customers and internal sales teams. The role is ideal for someone who can balance firm credit control with excellent customer service and commercial awareness.

This is a hands-on role covering credit control, sales ledger administration, invoicing, cash allocation and credit checking. You'll work closely with colleagues across Finance and Sales to support continued business growth whilst ensuring customers operate within agreed payment terms.

If you're not comfortable chasing overdue debt, managing customer accounts and working proactively to resolve payment issues, this role won't be the right fit.

What you'll be doing

• Chasing outstanding customer debt by phone and email
• Daily cash allocation and account reconciliations
• Managing customer queries and payment disputes
• Producing customer statements and debtor reports
• Processing credit checks and new account applications
• Daily invoicing and consolidated invoicing
• Submitting invoices through customer portals.
• Working closely with Regional Sales Teams to support commercial objectives

What we need from you

✔ Previous Credit Control experience

✔ Strong Sales Ledger & Cash Allocation management experience

✔ Experience conducting credit checks and managing customer accounts

✔ Excellent communication and negotiation skills

✔ Good Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems

✔ A professional and customer-focused approach with commercial awareness

Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
