Role: Credit Controller

Location: Rosebank, Johannesburg

Reporting to: Credit Control Team Leader

Role Purpose

We are looking for an experienced Credit Controller to proactively manage a portfolio of trade customers, maximise cash collection and maintain accurate customer accounts, while delivering a high standard of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage an allocated portfolio of customer accounts and proactively collect outstanding debt.
• Allocate customer payments accurately and on time.
• Reconcile payments against bank statements and investigate discrepancies.
• Monitor accounts to ensure agreed payment terms are met.
• Identify and resolve disputed invoices, debit notes and account queries.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account information.
• Work closely with internal teams to resolve outstanding issues.
• Process daily EDI invoicing files.
• Escalate overdue accounts where external debt recovery may be required.
• Support the Credit Control Team Leader and Credit Manager as required.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience within Credit Control, Debtors or Accounts Receivable , ideally in a high-volume environment.
• Good understanding of credit risk and debt recovery procedures .
• Strong numerical ability and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise a busy workload.
• Confident and professional communication skills.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving ability.
• Comfortable handling challenging payment conversations and account queries.
• Flexible, resilient and able to adapt to change.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
