What they need

Credit Specialist

BOYNECLARKE LLP

At BOYNECLARKE LLP, we are more than just a legal practice; we are a community of Lawyers and Staff committed to success, balance, and wellness. We offer legal services ranging from personal matters to complex business transactions, providing the expertise and systems of a large law firm while keeping the personal touch of a smaller one.

We value our team and understand that a strong culture results in the best client service, and we are proud to be recognized for this as one of Atlantic Business Magazine’s Best Places to Work for 2026.

About This Role

We are in search of an individual with exceptional customer service skills to join our Creditor team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable conducting outbound calls daily, navigating challenging conversations with borrowers, and is driven, attentive and adaptable. If you have a balance of persistence and empathy in your communication, you will thrive in this position.

This is a fully in-office position reporting to the Business Operations Manager of the Creditor team. Though the work will be entirely in English, it is always considered an asset if candidates understand or can communicate in additional languages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contact borrowers via phone, email, and other avenues to collect overdue debts.
  • Negotiate payment plans and settlements with customers to resolve outstanding debts.
  • Help borrowers understand the debt recovery process and help them navigate all available options.
  • Document all communications and payment arrangements accurately.
  • Follow up with borrowers to ensure arrangements are upheld.
  • Prioritize excellent customer service while adhering to policies, procedures and goals.
  • Collaborate with other team members to share best practices and strategies.
  • Support client and lawyer reporting requirements.
  • Meet weekly and monthly Key Performance Indicators.

What You Bring

  • Experience: 1-2 years of customer service experience, including de-escalation and navigating challenging conversations. Experience in the financial industry, with inbound/outbound calls, or debt recovery considered an asset.
  • Skills: Exceptional time management, attention to detail, and communication skills with demonstrated patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Mindset: Goal-oriented, critical thinker, problem solver, and team player with a positive attitude excited to contribute to a collaborative culture.
  • Tech Proficiency: Adept at using technology such as Outlook and Microsoft Office, with a talent for learning new software quickly.

Why Join BOYNECLARKE LLP?

  • Growth & Learning: We foster a culture of continuous learning and offer resources for professional development.
  • Work-Life Balance: Enjoy flexible scheduling and generous paid time off to support your career and personal needs.
  • Wellness-Focus: Access wellness subsidies, free 24/7 virtual healthcare, and various health and fitness discounts.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Choose from cost-shared health & dental options, participate in our RRSP matching program, and enjoy Firm-paid Life Insurance, AD&D, LTD, and access to Employer & Family Assistance programs.
  • Community Impact: Make a difference through Firm-sponsored volunteer time and monthly employee-selected charitable giving.
