Crematory Technician

General Responsibilities

• Ability to handle the physical aspects of working as a crematory technician, which include lifting and moving decedent bodies of various weights and sizes without difficulty and in a respectful and dignified manner into retort, refrigerated cooler, or onto gurney/funeral truck or mortuary transport vehicle;
• Ability to accurately log essential information as necessary to identify decedent and ensure proper authorization to cremate;
• Operate retort (cremation machine) safely and efficiently after certification (we will provide the necessary training and certification if not already certified)
• MUST be task and detail oriented, capable of reading authorization forms and other documents accurately and competently;
• MUST have integrity, be honest, responsible and reliable, taking ownership over your work product;
• Particular attention to respect and decorum while performing job duties; Employer and families expect safe, dignified, timely and expeditious performance of job duties.
• Communicate clearly and appropriately with co-workers and management while working in a stressful position involving physical exertion;
• Job may require long periods of standing and lifting in difficult, potentially hot environment;
• Must treat decedents with utmost dignity and respect at all times;

Education/Experience

Must be able to speak, read and write English sufficient to read technical documents and understand and communicate with co-workers and others in the industry.

Crematory Certification necessary (Company will provide training and certification if the candidate is not already certified in Nevada)

Special Considerations (e.g. Travel/Work Hours/etc.)

• Drug testing is required to operate retort machines.
• Prior certification as a Crematory Technician is highly desirable.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
