What We're Looking For

We are seeking an experienced Tree Care Crew Lead with a current, valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) to lead field operations and safely transport company vehicles and equipment.

A CDL is required for this position. Crane operator experience is strongly preferred, particularly experience supporting tree removal operations.

This is more than a field role—it is a leadership opportunity within our expanding Field Management Team. You will mentor crew members, drive performance, uphold safety standards, and represent Alpine’s culture in the field.

You will also participate in weekly leadership meetings with Sales, Executive, Office, and Field Management to improve communication and support the company’s growth. Comfort using an electronic app for daily job information, scheduling, and reporting is required.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and motivate assigned field crews to deliver safe, efficient, high-quality tree care.
• Drive company commercial vehicles and transport equipment to and from job sites, within your CDL qualifications.
• Manage morning setup and deployment, including vehicle and equipment inspections, safety checks, and job readiness.
• Conduct daily job briefings, assign responsibilities, and monitor productivity.
• Apply crane operation experience, if qualified, to support safe tree removal and coordinate with crews on rigging, lifting, and job-site setup.
• Provide detailed end-of-day reports and performance feedback.
• Train and mentor field employees on equipment operation and safety best practices.
• Attend weekly leadership and safety meetings and monthly production meetings.
• Participate in onboarding and field training for new hires and interns.
• Assist with snow removal operations during the winter months.
• Enforce and help improve field protocols for safety, communication, and efficiency.

Qualifications We Require

• Current, valid CDL appropriate for the company vehicles you will operate. Applicants must already hold a CDL to be considered.
• Insurable driving record.
• 3+ years of experience as a Crew Lead in tree care.
• ISA Certified Arborist, or ability to obtain certification within six months.
• Proven leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to use digital tools for scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
• Commitment to teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Crane operator experience, especially in tree removal operations.
• Relevant crane operator certification.
• Experience with rigging, lift coordination, and communication between crane operators and tree crews.

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
