As a Crew Member at Johnny Greeko's, you're the face of the restaurant. You'll greet every guest, take orders accurately at the counter and on the phone, handle cash and card payments, and make sure each order is packed complete, correct, and on time. You'll keep the front of house clean and welcoming, answer menu questions with confidence, and turn first-time visitors into regulars. You'll also support the kitchen when service demands it — assembling pitas and bowls at the pita table and helping with prep. Depending on the shift, you'll either open the restaurant (setting up the front, counting in your till, and getting stations ready for service) or close it (counting out, cleaning, restocking, and leaving everything ready for the next day). This position requires open availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. We're looking for dependable, friendly team players who enjoy working with people and take pride in great service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand completely and follow all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs.
• Greet guests promptly and warmly, take orders accurately at the counter and by phone, and answer questions about the menu, ingredients, and allergens.
• Operate the POS system, process cash, debit, and credit payments accurately, issue correct change and receipts, and maintain a balanced till.
• Package and bag orders for pickup and delivery, confirming every order is complete and correct before it leaves the counter.
• Manage the order queue during rushes, communicate wait times to guests, and coordinate with the kitchen to keep service moving.
• Resolve guest concerns courteously and escalate to management when needed.
• Assist in the kitchen as needed: building pitas and bowls at the pita table, basic food prep, and occasional use of the grill, flat top, or ovens. Work environment can be very warm.
• Keep the front counter, pickup area, and washrooms clean, stocked, and organized throughout the shift.
• Maintain a collaborative relationship with fellow employees, management and guests.
• Perform opening duties when scheduled, including counting in the cash drawer, setting up the front counter and pickup area, stocking supplies, turning on and checking equipment, and completing the opening checklist so the restaurant is ready for service on time.
• Perform closing duties when scheduled, including counting and reconciling the cash drawer, completing cash drops, cleaning and sanitizing the front of house and any kitchen stations worked, and properly storing, labelling, and dating product.
• Complete end-of-day cleaning tasks throughout the restaurant, including dish washing, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out garbage and recycling, cleaning surfaces, and restocking for the next shift.
• Follow opening and closing checklists and food safety procedures to ensure the restaurant is secured and left in sanitary, ready-to-open condition.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

• Open availability is required. Must be available to work a mix of opening and closing shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous customer service or cash-handling experience in a restaurant or retail setting is considered an asset.
• Comfortable operating a POS system and handling cash accurately.
• Friendly, clear communicator who stays calm and courteous under pressure.
• Ability to multitask — taking orders, processing payments, and packaging food during busy periods.
• Must be able to read and follow order tickets and recipes and communicate needs and concerns.
• Willingness to help in the kitchen; experience with a pita table, grill, or flat top is a plus but not required.
• Be dependable, hard working and able to work quickly to meet goals.
• Able to follow opening, closing, and cash-out procedures thoroughly and reliably, whether starting early or finishing late.
• Food Handler certification will be an asset, or must obtain after hire.

Working Environment and Physical Demands:

Working conditions are normal for a restaurant environment. Shifts vary and include both openings and closings; open availability is required. Work will involve standing for long periods of time, frequent interaction with guests, and lifting and moving of materials and product up to 40 pounds. Opening and closing shifts include extended setup and cleaning tasks such as scrubbing equipment, bending, reaching, and repetitive motion. Working in this environment requires the use of equipment including but not limited to: POS terminal and payment devices, different types of knives, scales, microwave, ovens, grill, flat top, fryer, steam table, pita table, walk-in cooler, freezer, cleaning and sanitizing supplies, climb a ladder, etc.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
