Critical Care Physician Job In California CRITICAL CARE PHYSICIAN LEADER DIRECTOR COMMUNITY Central Valley of California. 2.5 Hours to LAX Airport. County population 1 Million people. Overview New Fellowship Program allowing incoming full time employed Director an opportunity tobuild & shape the culture, expectations, curriculum + the educational philosophy. position combines protected Program Director time with active clinical practice as an intensivist at the hospital.

Join established private practice of 50 providers with specialties of Critical Care, Pulmonology, Neuro Critical Care, Hospitalists & Emergency Medicine. Physician retention rate of over 95%.

ROLE Expected 10 ICU shifts/month on top of Program Director responsibilities. Clinical schedule will include daytime and possibly nighttime coverage. Night shifts <30%of clinical schedule.

• Fellowship curriculum development
• Development of educational goals and competency standards
• Faculty recruitment and development
• Establishing evaluation and feedback systems
• Development of didactic and bedside educational programs
• Participation in the accreditation application process
• Preparation for accreditation review
• Development of fellowship recruitment and interview processes
• Participation in fellow selection
• Establishing expectations for clinical performance, scholarship, professionalism, and accountability
• Building the culture of the fellowship before the first fellow arrives

HOSPITAL

• 24-bed Main ICU
• 8-bed Neurocritical Care ICU
• Average Census 12-15 patients per intensivist.
• Two intensivists covering the ICU during the7:00 AM'7:00 PMday shift
• One intensivist covering the ICU during the7:00 PM'7:00 AMnight shift

Within The 8 Bed Neurocritical Care ICU

• The Intensivist functions as the primary attending physician.
• Neurocritical care consultation is available for collaborative case management.
• Neurosurgical support is available.
• Neurointerventional support is available.

Currently not an ECMO center, but strong institutional interest in developing a comprehensivecardiogenic shock program.

PACKAGE

• Competitive intensivist clinical compensation, commensurate with experience
• A separateProgram Director leadership stipend
• Combined annual compensation expected to exceed$550,000
• Depending upon clinical commitment and responsibilities,total annual compensation has the potential to exceed $600,000

Experience Required

• Previous experience as aProgram Director or Associate Program Directorwithin an accredited GME program; or
• Significant and sustained involvement in Graduate Medical Education with experience ascore facultyand demonstrated leadership in resident or fellow education.
• Exceptional candidates without prior PD/APD experience may be considered if they have an extensive record of GME participation, curriculum development, resident or fellow education, faculty leadership, and academic involvement.

Board Certified or Board Eligible Medical Doctor with or w/o US residency with current US work visa.
