Cryptocurrency Trader

About the role

Our client is a well-capitalised trading firm seeking an experienced Crypto Trader / Portfolio Manager to run a dedicated book. This is a fully remote position with flexibility on location and time zone. The successful candidate will bring an existing, proven strategy and receive capital allocation, institutional infrastructure, and the autonomy to trade it their own way.

Responsibilities

• Own and run a dedicated crypto trading book, with full responsibility for strategy execution and PnL.
• Manage risk within agreed limits, including position sizing, exposure, and drawdown control.
• Monitor strategy performance and adapt to changing market conditions and liquidity conditions.
• Work with the risk and technology teams on execution quality, connectivity, and capacity expansion.
• Scale allocated capital as performance is demonstrated.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of professional crypto trading experience (proprietary trading, hedge fund, or market-making background)
• A live strategy with a continuous track record of at least 3 years
• Verifiable performance history - audited statements or exchange-verifiable PnL
• Demonstrated risk-adjusted returns, with a Sharpe ratio above 3 and annualised returns in the region of 60%
• Ability to clearly articulate the source of edge, capacity constraints, and drawdown characteristics
• Strategies must be centralised-exchange based. Candidates whose returns are primarily generated through DeFi or on-chain yield strategies are not a fit for this mandate

Preferred

• Experience trading at institutional scale with multi-venue execution
• Familiarity with systematic risk frameworks and independent risk oversight
• Track record of scaling a strategy beyond initial allocation
