CSA Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and technically competent CSA Engineer with 2–5 years of relevant experience to join our project team in Penang. The successful candidate will support the delivery of Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA) works, working closely with the Project Manager, consultants, contractors and other engineering disciplines to ensure that works are delivered safely, on schedule, to the required quality and in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor Civil, Structural and Architectural works at site.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with consultants and contractors to resolve design and construction issues.
• Monitor site progress and ensure works are carried out in accordance with the approved programme.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify workmanship, materials and installation against approved drawings and specifications.
• Review and follow up on RFI, technical submissions, method statements, inspection requests and NCRs.
• Coordinate architectural interfaces with structural, MEP and other disciplines.
• Monitor concrete, structural steel, façade, waterproofing, roofing, finishes and other CSA-related works.
• Assist in reviewing contractors' proposed construction methodologies and sequencing.
• Identify construction issues, potential delays and interface problems and escalate them to the Project Manager.

About you

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in construction, engineering consultancy or project management.
• Good understanding of civil, structural and architectural construction processes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical documents.
• Experience in site coordination and contractor management.
• Familiarity with QA/QC procedures, inspections, NCRs and technical submissions.
• Good understanding of construction sequencing and project interfaces.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
