What they need
COMPANY OVERVIEW
Our client is a major international contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering large-scale, technically complex construction projects across Europe. They are particularly recognised for their strength in mission-critical and capital-intensive environments, where programme certainty, structural quality and disciplined coordination of the build sequence are the defining measures of success.
The business has built long-standing relationships with a portfolio of global clients, supporting schemes from early design development and enabling works through to structural completion, fit-out and handover. That continuity of relationship has translated into a secured, multi-year pipeline and a consistent reputation for delivering to programme on projects where the tolerance for delay is close to zero.
Continued expansion across the European market has led to significant investment in their construction delivery teams. As a result, they are appointing experienced civil and building construction professionals to strengthen delivery capability on a major live programme, offering the opportunity to join at a genuinely pivotal point in the company’s growth.
This is an organisation that invests seriously in its people. Career development is structured rather than incidental, with a clear track record of promoting from within and supporting experienced managers into senior delivery and leadership positions across the European portfolio.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PROJECTS
You will join an experienced delivery team on a large-scale data centre development in the Bucharest region, taking ownership of the civil, structural and architectural scope within a wider multidisciplinary programme. These are fast-paced, high-specification environments where the CSA works set the platform for every following trade, and where sequencing, quality control and programme discipline carry real weight.
The working culture is collaborative and delivery-focused. Project teams are given genuine autonomy over their packages while being backed by experienced senior leadership and mature systems for planning, quality assurance and health and safety. Decisions are made close to the work, and managers who can think commercially as well as technically are given room to operate.
The role offers exposure across the full construction lifecycle, from enabling works, groundworks and substructure through to frame, envelope, internal fit-out and handover, including the critical interface with the building services installation. You will work daily alongside client representatives, design consultants, specialist subcontractors and the MEP delivery team, building the breadth of experience that positions professionals for senior appointments on future European projects.
The position operates on a 17/4 rotation, with accommodation and all travel provided. This structure delivers a focused and productive period on site followed by a genuine break away from the project, while the international setting offers the opportunity to work within an experienced, multinational team on one of the most active sectors in European construction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take full ownership of the civil, structural and architectural packages from enabling works and substructure through to fit-out and handover
- Manage package programmes, construction sequencing and resource allocation to ensure delivery in line with the overall project schedule
- Coordinate civil, structural and finishing subcontractors, managing interfaces with the MEP, engineering and commercial teams
- Lead design coordination and technical review, resolving buildability, tolerance and interface issues ahead of construction
- Drive quality control across structural and architectural works, managing inspection regimes, snagging and the close-out of defects
- Maintain robust project reporting, covering progress, risk, procurement status and forecast to completion
- Ensure all works are delivered to the required health, safety, quality and environmental standards
- Support commercial control of the package, working closely with the quantity surveying team on variations, valuations and cost forecasting
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with the client, consultants and supply chain throughout delivery
WHAT YOU NEED
- Proven experience as a CSA Project Manager, Construction Manager or Senior Site Manager with responsibility for major civil, structural and architectural packages
- A strong main contractor background, with demonstrable ownership of build delivery on large-scale projects
- A civil engineering, structural engineering or construction management discipline, gained through degree, diploma or trade and site progression
- Data centre or other mission-critical experience is beneficial but not essential; experience of complex, high-specification build environments is what matters
- Sound understanding of groundworks, substructure, frame and envelope, and the interface between CSA works and building services installation
- Strong subcontractor management and stakeholder communication skills, with the confidence to hold programme and quality standards
- Excellent written and spoken English is essential, as the project operates in English across a multinational team
- Willingness to work on a 17/4 rotational basis at an international project location
WHAT YOU’LL GET IN RETURN
A salary of €120,000 – €140,000 is on offer, together with accommodation, all travel and a full benefits package, meaning the headline figure is retained rather than absorbed by the cost of working away. Beyond the package, you will gain delivery experience on one of the most sought-after project types in European construction, within a business that has a secured pipeline and a genuine track record of progressing experienced managers into senior delivery and leadership roles. The 17/4 rotation provides a structured balance between intensive site delivery and meaningful time at home.
