CSS Technician - Project Based

Role Description The CSS Technician is responsible for the decontamination, preparation, packaging, sterilization, and storage of medical and surgical instruments and equipment. This full-time, on-site role is based at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City and involves operating sterilization devices, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring proper distribution of sterile supplies to clinical areas, including the operating room. The role includes strict adherence to infection control protocols, routine equipment checks, documentation of sterilization cycles, and coordination with nursing and surgical teams to meet procedure schedules. The CSS Technician also assists in quality assurance activities, follows safety guidelines, and supports continuous improvement of central sterile services.

Qualifications

• Disinfects, cleans and dries equipment and machines, and instruments to prepare them for sterilization.
• Assembles complex instruments sets, dressing kits and treatment trays.
• Package and wrap surgical instruments and supplies in accordance with prescribed sterilization processes.
• Sterilizes instruments and supplies according to established policies and procedures.
• Orders medical-surgical supplies and production materials (Stockroom staff)
• Replenishes medical-surgical supplies at the Dispensing area (Stockroom staff)
• Performs daily monitoring and cleaning of machines
• Performs other tasks assigned by the Immediate Superior relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the position.
• Actively participates in the organization-wide activities and taskforces assigned relevant to the Corporate Vision, Mission and Values, the strategic objectives of the organization.
