CSSD Technician

Position: CSSD Technician (Central Sterile Supply Department)
Department: CSSD
Location: Dr. Shroff's Charity Eye Hospital, Delhi
Reports To: CSSD In-charge / Nursing In-charge

Job Summary

To ensure the proper cleaning, disinfection, packing, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment in accordance with hospital infection control protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, segregate, clean, and disinfect used surgical instruments and equipment.
• Operate sterilization equipment, including autoclaves, as per established protocols.
• Inspect, assemble, pack, label, and sterilize surgical instruments and sets.
• Maintain sterilization records, cycle logs, and instrument traceability.
• Monitor sterilization indicators and report any failed cycles or equipment issues.
• Ensure proper storage and timely distribution of sterile instruments to OT and other departments.
• Follow infection control, biomedical waste management, and occupational safety guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the CSSD area.
• Coordinate with OT and nursing teams to ensure the availability of sterile supplies.

Qualifications & Experience

• Qualification: 10+2; CSSD Technician certification/diploma preferred.
• Experience: 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred, ideally in a hospital or operation theatre setting.
• Fresher also welcome with internship Experience
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control, and surgical instrument handling.

• Ability to work in shifts as per hospital requirements.
