CSV Validation Engineer (DeltaV)

Position: CSV Validation Engineer (DeltaV) Duration: 18-24 months

Location: Waukegan, IL 60087 - 100% onsite, 5 days per week

Sterling Engineering is seeking an experienced DeltaV / CSV Validation Engineer to support the GMP-compliant retirement of pharmaceutical automation and computerized control systems.

This role focuses on developing and executing validation and decommissioning documentation. Candidates should bring hands-on Emerson DeltaV experience and the ability to independently manage GMP documentation and execution.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute decommissioning plans, protocols, and validation documentation.
• Support retirement of DeltaV automation and computerized control systems.
• Prepare impact assessments, change controls, and validation closeout documentation.
• Support D3 decommissioning activities alongside technical engineering resources.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Automation, Validation, and Quality teams to complete activities in compliance with GMP requirements.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of pharmaceutical CSV, automation validation, or related U.S. experience.
• Must have hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV systems.
• Must have experience authoring and executing GMP validation protocols and documentation.
• Strong understanding of computerized system lifecycle, change control, and GMP requirements.
• Must have the ability to independently manage validation documentation and execution.
• Must have previous automation or computerized system decommissioning experience.
• Experience with D3 systems or related documentation.
