Job Summary

We are looking for a passionate, motivated, and enthusiastic Culinary Intern to join our Kitchen Department. This internship provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, food presentation, and food safety while working alongside our experienced culinary team.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn about hotel kitchen operations, maintain food quality standards, and develop essential culinary skills in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Assist chefs with preparing ingredients, including washing, cutting, measuring, and portioning food items.
• Kitchen Operations: Support daily kitchen activities and assist with food preparation for restaurants, banquets, and hotel events.
• Cooking and Food Presentation: Learn basic cooking techniques, plating, garnishing, and food presentation under the guidance of experienced chefs.
• Food Safety and Hygiene: Follow proper food handling procedures and maintain cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with hotel standards.
• Kitchen Maintenance: Ensure kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment are clean, organized, and properly maintained.
• Stock Management: Assist with receiving, storing, labeling, and rotating food ingredients according to established procedures.
• Quality Control: Follow recipes, portion standards, and instructions to maintain food quality and consistency.
• Teamwork: Work closely with chefs and kitchen team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Other Duties: Perform other kitchen-related tasks assigned by the chef or supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Culinary Arts, Food Preparation, Hospitality, or a related field.
• Strong interest in cooking, food preparation, and the hospitality industry.
• Willingness to learn new culinary techniques and kitchen operations.
• Positive attitude, responsible, disciplined, and eager to learn.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
• Able to follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety requirements.
• Previous kitchen experience is an advantage but not compulsory.
