Job Overview
Our Axtell school is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the school's facilities are well-kept and operational. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a positive educational environment through diligent custodial work. Evening hours are required. High School Diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal throughout school facilities
• Maintain floors through buffing, stripping, waxing, and other floor care procedures
• Conduct routine janitorial tasks such as restroom sanitation and surface disinfecting
• Assist with minor repairs and maintenance of facilities as needed
• Operate cleaning equipment and tools safely and efficiently
• Ensure all areas are maintained in accordance with safety standards and school policies
• Support special cleaning projects during school breaks or after hours as required
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies need replenishing

Qualifications

• Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred, especially in commercial or industrial cleaning environments
• Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and stripping
• Experience with facilities maintenance is a plus
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Reliable work ethic with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.60 per hour
