Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our school facilities. In this vital role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and custodial tasks to ensure that all areas meet high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Your efforts will directly contribute to creating a positive atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all designated areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms by sanitizing fixtures, replenishing supplies, and ensuring hygiene standards are met.
• Conduct commercial cleaning duties such as window washing, floor care, and surface disinfecting to uphold facility appearance.
• Use janitorial equipment and cleaning chemicals safely and effectively, following all safety protocols.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to ensure swift resolution and prevent accidents.
• Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures to maintain consistent standards of cleanliness throughout the facility.

Experience

• Prior custodial or janitorial experience in a school or institutional setting is preferred.
• Proven ability to perform detailed cleaning tasks with efficiency and attention to detail.
• Must be able to perform physical labor involved in custodial responsibilities including, but not limited to, lifting a minimum of 40 lbs.
• Black Seal Fireman’s License preferred, or must be willing to obtain within 2 years.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to established protocols.

Reports to : Builidng Principal or designee

Hours/length of day: Evenings when school is in session 8 hours per day
