Custodian

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Custodian to join our facilities maintenance team. The Custodian will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of our premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, adherence to safety protocols, and excellent customer service skills. The ideal candidate will have prior custodial or janitorial experience and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.

Duties

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all designated areas.
• Able to work in non-climate-controlled facility and outdoors.
• Must be able to lift up to 25lbs and conduct heavy lifting/manual handling of supplies
• Handle chemical agents safely by following proper handling procedures and safety protocols to ensure environmental safety and personal protection.
• Maintain sanitation standards in restrooms, kitchens, and other high-traffic areas through disinfecting and cleaning procedures.
• Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored, maintained, and used efficiently.
• Follow safety guidelines consistently to prevent accidents or injuries during custodial activities.
• Support other departments with general plant housekeeping duties.

Requirements

• Proven custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or industrial settings.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and custodial equipment operation.
• Ability to handle chemical agents safely by following established safety procedures.
• Physical capability for manual handling tasks including lifting heavy objects and prolonged standing or walking.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and safety compliance.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with staff.
• Understanding of safety protocols related to chemical handling and heavy lifting practices.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to established routines.

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 24.0 per week
