Primary Function: Perform custodial maintenance duties including dusting, mopping, finishing, buffing floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, trash removal, cleaning and restocking restrooms to maintain the school or facility, locker room, and adjacent ground areas in clean, orderly, and secure conditions to ensure that student achievement is maximized. Must be 18 years old.

Representative Essential Duties:

• Perform all duties on the work schedule as assigned by supervisors in an effective and timely manner and assist co-workers as needed
• Inform the supervisor of needed supplies and equipment
• Keep assigned equipment in clean working order
• Secure doors in assigned areas as needed
• Be flexible and willing to do what is needed when unexpected or inclement weather occurs (inclement weather may call for additional work to keep the walks and entrances clean, clear, and safe)
• Respond to emergency cleanup such as spills; report needs for maintenance, repair, and safety issues
• Report safety, sanitary, and fire hazards to the supervisor; report and recommend the need for maintenance repairs to the supervisor; maintain security of buildings; report suspicious or unauthorized individuals on campus; report infractions of rules to the supervisor
• Lock and unlock doors and gates as appropriate; maintain the security of assigned areas according to established guidelines; turn the alarm system off in the morning and on in the evening as directed
• Participate in major summer cleaning projects as assigned
• Be willing to obtain additional training in areas not familiar and as required by the position
• Perform duties consistent with the position as may be requested by school staff
• Other custodial duties as assigned by the supervisor

Pay: $17.67 - $18.77 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
