Custodian / Grounds Keeper

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian / Grounds Keeper to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of our facilities and outdoor grounds. Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of indoor spaces including floors, windows, restrooms, offices, and common areas using commercial cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and vacuums.
• Handle chemical agents safely during cleaning processes by following proper chemical handling safety procedures to ensure a healthy environment.
• Conduct groundskeeping tasks such as mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, raking leaves, and maintaining outdoor pathways to uphold aesthetic appeal.
• Maintain cleanliness of outdoor surfaces through industrial cleaning methods including pressure washing and sanitation procedures.
• Assist with custodial responsibilities like heavy lifting of supplies or equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices to prevent injuries.
• Support basic facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting (including residential painting), and reporting larger issues for prompt resolution.
• Operate various cleaning equipment effectively and safely to ensure optimal results in all cleaning activities.
• Follow safety protocols diligently during all custodial and groundskeeping activities to promote a secure work environment.
• Respond promptly to facility needs or customer service requests related to cleanliness or grounds upkeep.

Skills

• Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles with knowledge of commercial cleaning standards.
• Skilled in handling chemical agents safely with a strong understanding of chemical handling safety procedures.
• Proficient in operating cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, pressure washers, and other custodial tools.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while maintaining safe lifting practices.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards staff and visitors.
• Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks including minor repairs and residential painting techniques.
• Strong understanding of sanitation standards, industrial cleaning methods, and safety protocol adherence.
• Experience with groundskeeping duties such as landscaping, lawn care, and outdoor facility upkeep is preferred.

Pay: From $16.90 per hour
