Custodian Maintenance

Overview

Join our team as a Custodian Maintenance professional at our apartment community in Grand Rapids, where your energy and attention to detail will keep our environment safe, clean, and welcoming. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and functionality across our property by performing a variety of custodial and maintenance tasks. Your proactive approach will ensure that our spaces create a positive experience for everyone in our community.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine turnover apartment cleanings, and janitorial duties including, trash removal, leaf blowing, and snow clearing from sidewalks and building hallways, and seasonally pool cleaning.
• Conduct light maintenance tasks including minor repairs, painting, and upkeep of facilities to ensure operational efficiency.
• Use proper manual handling techniques for heavy lifting and moving equipment or supplies in accordance with safe lifting practices.
• Follow all safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a secure environment for staff, residents, and visitors.
• Assist with general facilities maintenance activities whenever needed.

Experience

• Preferred custodial or janitorial experience in residential settings.
• Preferred experience in maintenance.
• Experience with equipment such as tractors, snow blowers, leaf blowers, pool pumps and vacuums.
• Experience handling chemical agents safely in accordance with safety protocols.
• Knowledge of sanitation standards and best practices for maintaining a clean environment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and manual handling with adherence to safety practices.
• Customer service skills that foster positive interactions with staff, residents, and visitors during routine duties.

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
