Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Custodian Trainer/Floater to join our facilities maintenance team. In this versatile role, you will be responsible for providing hands-on training to custodial staff, ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation standards, and stepping in to support various cleaning and maintenance tasks across multiple sites. Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive training sessions on cleaning techniques, equipment operation, chemical handling safety procedures, and proper sanitation practices to custodial staff.
• Supervise and support janitorial teams by providing guidance on safe lifting practices, heavy lifting protocols, and the use of cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and industrial scrubbers.
• Perform routine cleaning duties across different facilities, including floor care, sanitation of restrooms, dusting, trash removal, and general upkeep to ensure a pristine environment.
• Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting (residential or industrial), and upkeep of cleaning tools and supplies.
• Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety protocols, chemical handling procedures, and custodial standards; address any deficiencies promptly.
• Support the onboarding process for new custodial team members by demonstrating proper use of cleaning equipment and emphasizing safety procedures.
• Maintain detailed records of training sessions, safety incidents, cleaning schedules, and equipment maintenance logs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in custodial work or janitorial services with a strong understanding of commercial cleaning standards.
• Prior experience in training or mentoring custodial staff is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques including floor buffing, industrial cleaning, sanitation practices, and chemical agent handling safety procedures.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting while following safe lifting practices.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other janitorial tools.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and facility occupants.
• Strong commitment to safety protocol adherence and facilities maintenance standards.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, perform heavy lifting when necessary, and work in various environmental conditions.

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
