Custodian/Maintenance Worker

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian/Maintenance Worker to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and proper maintenance of our facilities. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and welcoming environment through comprehensive cleaning and custodial duties while supporting general facilities upkeep. Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all facility areas.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
• Handle chemical agents safely during cleaning processes, adhering strictly to chemical handling safety procedures.
• Conduct light maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting, and ensuring equipment is in good working order.
• Support facilities maintenance by inspecting and reporting issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, or structural concerns.
• Follow safety protocols diligently during all custodial and maintenance activities to prevent accidents or injuries.
• Assist with heavy lifting and manual handling tasks using proper safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment as needed.

Requirements

• Familiarity with cleaning equipment including floor buffers and other custodial tools.
• Experience handling chemical agents safely and understanding sanitation procedures.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while following safety protocol adherence.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for maintaining cleanliness standards.
• Good customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards staff and visitors.
• Prior experience in facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.

Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour
