Custom Applicator Trainee – Ag Retail | Full-Time

Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Custom Applicator Trainee to join our ag retail team. This role is ideal for someone who is interested in learning custom application, gaining hands-on experience, and growing into a licensed applicator position. Experienced applicators are also encouraged to apply.

As a trainee, you will learn how to safely and accurately apply fertilizers, crop protection products, and other agricultural inputs while developing strong equipment operation skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of agronomy practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Equipment Operation Training — Learn to operate and maintain sprayers, spreaders, tender trucks, and other application equipment.
• Application Support — Assist with fertilizer and crop protection applications under supervision, following label guidelines and company standards.
• Accuracy & Documentation — Support accurate application rates, mapping, and field records.
• Equipment Care — Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and basic maintenance.
• Safety & Compliance — Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and environmental regulations.
• Seasonal Teamwork — Help support operations during busy planting and harvest seasons.

Qualifications

• Interest in agriculture and willingness to learn
• Familiarity with farm machinery or mechanical aptitude preferred
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Chemical Applicator License not required
• Ability to work independently and follow directions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Ability and willingness to work extended hours during spring and fall, including some weekends, as weather and seasonal demands require

Schedule

• In-Season (Spring & Fall): Extended hours and some weekends based on weather and field conditions
• Off-Season: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
