POSITION OVERVIEW

MTC is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee custom residential construction and remodel projects from mobilization through final completion, with particular attention to interior finish. This is a hands-on field leadership role: the Superintendent directs day-to-day site operations, partners closely with subcontractors and trade partners to uphold the highest standards of quality and workmanship, and ensures every project is executed safely, accurately, on schedule, and within budget — to a standard befitting our custom clientele.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, subcontractors, designers, architects, and fellow employees at every stage of the project.
• Develop and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, and annual project schedules; distribute biweekly schedule updates to keep all parties aligned and accountable to deadlines.
• Respond to all correspondence within 24 hours, with professionalism and respect in every interaction.
• Maintain a consistent, visible presence on site to field questions from subcontractors and remain directly involved in every decision affecting the work; collaborate with architects, designers, and project managers as needed.
• Ground every decision in the project budget, escalating questions or proposed changes to the Project Manager — no contracts or change approvals should proceed without Project Manager and/or client sign-off.
• Meet biweekly with the Project Manager to review schedule and budget performance and confirm each project remains on track.
• Apply deep, current knowledge of building practices and codes to ensure work is completed to the caliber our custom home clients expect, and that all inspections are managed professionally.
• Hold every party on the project — subcontractors, vendors, and team members alike — accountable to their commitments and the schedule.
• Deliver every project on time, within budget, and to a standard that stands as a lasting reference for Mark Tanner Construction.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED required; coursework in construction management strongly preferred.
• A minimum of 2–3 years of experience in construction and project management required.
• Demonstrated experience supervising high-end, custom residential construction or remodel projects is required; candidates without luxury residential field experience will not be considered.
• Strong familiarity with high-end finish work, premium materials, and the elevated standards of craftsmanship expected on custom home projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel, Sage Contractor 100, P-Vault paperless billing, and general computer applications.
• A valid driver's license in good standing.
• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to build, manage, and adapt complex project schedules.
• A proactive, resourceful approach to problem-solving, both on site and off.
• The judgment to think independently and the leadership presence to guide subcontractors and teams toward a successful outcome on every project.
