Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Hewitt Machine & Manufacturing is seeking an experienced and dependable Custom Welder/Fabricator to join our production team. This position involves custom welding and fabrication work using blueprints and engineering drawings to build high-quality manufacturing equipment and components. If you take pride in craftsmanship, enjoy solving fabrication challenges, and can read and interpret blueprints, we'd like to hear from you.

Job Duties:

• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders
• Set up, weld, and fabricate custom metal components to specification
• Perform MIG welding on steel and aluminum materials
• Measure, cut, grind, and fit materials for fabrication projects
• Use fabrication equipment and hand tools safely and effectively
• Inspect completed welds and assemblies for quality and accuracy
• Work with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Assist with other fabrication and production duties as needed

Qualifications:

• Previous welding and fabrication experience required
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Experience with MIG welding; aluminum welding experience preferred
• Strong measuring and layout skills
• Ability to operate sit down forklift
• Ability to use fabrication tools, grinders, saws, and other shop equipment
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet throughout the shift
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and team-oriented

Experience Preferred:

• Welding/Fabrication: 2+ years
• Blueprint Reading: 1+ year
