What they need

Customer Account Representative

Position Overview

The Customer Account Representative serves as the primary liaison between AMG and assigned customers, managing the customer order lifecycle from purchase order receipt through shipment. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented self-starter who takes ownership of customer requirements, identifies potential issues before they become operational problems, and drives resolution across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have experience reviewing purchase orders, specifications, delivery requirements, contractual terms, and customer flow-downs, with the ability to identify discrepancies, missing information, and risks prior to order entry or production release. The position works closely with Production, Planning, Quality, Engineering, and Shipping to ensure accurate orders, on-time delivery, and effective customer communication.

Manufacturing experience is required; aerospace/defense experience and familiarity with ITAR/export control requirements are strongly preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts and manage the order lifecycle from PO receipt through shipment.

· Review purchase orders, specifications, drawings, terms and conditions, delivery requirements, and customer flow-downs to ensure requirements are complete, accurate, and aligned with AMG capabilities.

· Identify and resolve discrepancies, missing information, conflicting requirements, and potential commercial or operational risks before they impact production or delivery.

· Enter and maintain accurate customer orders in the ERP system, including part numbers, revisions, quantities, pricing, ship-to locations, delivery dates, and customer-specific requirements.

· Monitor order status, material availability, production progress, quality requirements, and shipment schedules; proactively communicate risks and changes to customers and internal stakeholders.

· Manage open and past-due backlog, identify at-risk orders, and drive appropriate follow-up and resolution.

· Coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality, Engineering, and Shipping to resolve customer, quality, cost, and delivery issues.

· Manage customer forecasts, change orders, amendments, cancellations, and order revisions, ensuring impacts to pricing, schedule, materials, and production are identified and communicated.

· Maintain accurate customer records, forecasts, purchase orders, revisions, and related documentation.

· Manage customer portals and ensure required acknowledgments, updates, documentation, and shipment information are completed accurately and on time.

· Support customer and internal audits, performance reviews, and operational reporting.

· Identify recurring issues and support continuous improvement initiatives related to order accuracy, customer service, and on-time delivery.

· Escalate significant customer, delivery, commercial, quality, or compliance risks with clear facts and recommended next steps.

Qualifications

· Minimum 2 years of customer account, order management, customer service, or demand management experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Aerospace or defense experience is strongly preferred.

· Demonstrated experience reviewing and processing customer purchase orders and related documentation with a high level of accuracy.

· ERP experience required; Epicor strongly preferred.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.

· Familiarity with contractual terms and conditions, including UCC, FARs, and DFARS, preferred.

· Familiarity with ITAR and U.S. export control requirements strongly preferred.

· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

· Strong business judgment with the ability to independently identify issues, determine appropriate next steps, and escalate when necessary.

· Proven ability to prioritize multiple customer requirements and deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

· Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments and with customers.

· Demonstrated ownership, follow through, and ability to drive issues to resolution.

· Must be a U.S. Person due to the nature of work performed at AMG.

· Ability to travel occasionally, up to 10%.

· Ability to work a professional office schedule, with occasional non-regular hours as business needs require.
