Customer Engagement Specialist

We are on the hunt for a Customer Engagement Specialist to join a business where customer outcomes are at the core of their culture. Our client is well known for having a fantastic work environment, developing their people and a strong leadership team.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering an outstanding experience as you will be supporting customers by assessing their individual circumstances and working towards positive outcomes through careful decision-making. Your ability to engage with people and listen to their stories is key to this role - it’s really important for this opportunity that you understand you can make a change to people’s lives.

You don't need a traditional customer service or call centre background for this role, but you do need to understand people, know how to negotiation and be able to tell the good news and have the hard conversations. Whether you've worked in a people focussed role in a different environment from public service or call centre such as within the medical world, administration based, police background or another people-focused environment.

About the Role

• Manage inbound and outbound customer interactions, supporting customers by assessing individual circumstances.
• Assess and process customer requests.
• Complete a range of administrative tasks including updating customer files, processing requests and managing case notes.
• Accurately document customer interactions and maintain up-to-date records.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver the best outcomes for customers.

Key Skills & Experience

• Experience working in fast-paced, people-focused environments where you've supported customers, clients, patients, or stakeholders and built strong relationships.
• Experience from a range of backgrounds, including healthcare, insurance, banking, social services, case management, emergency services, or other roles that require resilience, empathy and sound judgement.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive conversations professionally across phone and email.
• Ability to assess complex situations and make informed decisions.
• A positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for helping people.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
• Resilience and adaptability, with the ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations and changing priorities.
