What they need

Bradford | Customer Service Advisor | Full-time

You are the kind of person who naturally pays close attention when someone is explaining a problem. Rather than rushing to cut them off with a quick answer, you ask the right questions, double-check the details, and make sure that when a customer finishes talking to you, they feel completely confident that their issue is being handled.

If you are looking for a steady, grounded office-based role in Bradford where your clear communication, patience, and attention to detail make a genuine difference every day, this position will suit you well. We are strengthening our local advisory team and need a reliable Customer Service Advisor to support our growing customer base with clear, accurate information and dependable problem-solving.

Daily Responsibilities

Working as part of our core advisory team, you will handle incoming customer enquiries across phone, email, and digital messaging channels. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Answering inbound phone calls and digital enquiries from customers regarding service updates, account queries, and billing.
  • Actively listening to customer issues and asking clarifying questions to identify the root cause of their enquiry.
  • Navigating central databases and account records quickly to retrieve accurate customer information.
  • Providing straightforward, accurate advice in line with company guidelines and service standards.
  • Resolving customer concerns constructively and escalating complex cases to senior leads when necessary.
  • Logging concise, accurate call notes and outcome records in our CRM software immediately after each contact.
  • Following up on open customer queries to ensure promises are kept and actions are completed on time.
  • Liaising with internal delivery, admin, and technical teams to resolve cross-departmental queries smoothly.

Candidate Profile & Key Qualities

We place far more weight on your listening skills, reliability, and methodical work habits than on a long history in high-volume contact centres. We look for:

  • Clear, professional spoken and written English with an approachable telephone manner.
  • Strong listening skills and the ability to maintain composure during difficult or sensitive calls.
  • Methodical personal standards when entering data, writing notes, and tracking ongoing tasks.
  • Comfortable computer literacy and confidence using standard office software and database systems.
  • A practical, solution-focused attitude when dealing with unexpected customer requests.
  • Previous experience in customer support, administration, retail, hospitality, or university helpdesk roles is a plus, but not essential as full training is provided.

Training & Skills Progression

We ensure you receive structured, hands-on support so you understand our services and software inside out before handling calls on your own.

Your onboarding begins with practical side-by-side training alongside an experienced advisor, walking you through our account systems, call protocols, and resolution guidelines. Through regular one-to-one coaching sessions with your team leader, you will review customer interactions, receive constructive feedback, and build confidence in handling more complex enquiries. As your system knowledge develops, you will have opportunities to specialize in key account support, assist with training new team members, and take on senior advisory duties.

Package & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary
  • Performance-based bonuses linked to service quality metrics
  • Comprehensive initial system training and continuous product coaching
  • Regular one-to-one feedback and career development reviews
  • Practical experience using industry-standard customer management platforms
  • Team social events and office incentives
  • Recognition for consistent accuracy, attendance, and high customer feedback
  • Clear pathways to take on senior advisor, quality coach, or team support roles

Next Steps

If you want to bring your communication skills to a supportive Bradford team, please submit your CV along with your up-to-date contact details. We review applications regularly and will contact suitable applicants for an initial phone chat.
