What they need
Are you passionate about customer service and looking for part time hours to fit around your lifestyle? Maybe you are looking for a part time role to fit around childcare or the school run? Maybe you have recently left full time work but are still wanting employment within customer service. Or you are wanting to fit a role around your studies? Whatever the reason, WPA may be able to offer you a customer service based role to accommodate the hours you want to work, between 21 - 30 hours per week. Treating our customers the way we would wish to be treated is at the heart of everything we do, leading us to expand our fantastic team.
The starting salary is £27,810 FTE rising to £28,840 FTE on successful completion of probation.
This is based in our office on Blackbrook Business Park in Taunton, TA1 2PE. Suitable candidates must live within a commutable distance to our office in Taunton (we recommend within 15 miles).
About WPA
WPA is a health insurance provider with over 125 years’ experience in treating our customers as we would wish to be treated ourselves. We have won many awards for our customer service, are the highest rated health insurer on Trustpilot, and are the only Which? Recommended Provider for Private Medical Insurance in the UK.
As a non-for-profit organisation, it’s not only our customers we look after, but our amazing workforce who are the key to our success.
You’ll feel proud to work for WPA due to our inclusive culture, career progression and generous benefits.
Benefits
We offer an attractive starting salary alongside our annual non-contractual bonus. Your health and wellbeing is very important to us and you will have access to our private medical insurance cover, a WPA cash plan and private remote GP services. Other benefits include purchasing additional annual leave, pension and length of service awards which make us stand out as an employer of choice.
Social events are fun and frequent, including BBQs on the patio, annual parties, team building and sporting events.
About the role
A Customer Support Officer is the first point of contact for all customers enquiries and is predominately a telephone-based role dealing with a high volume of inbound calls. These roles help support our customers in their times of need including registering a claim and helping customers to find the right medical professional so they can access the best possible treatment – essentially delivering a service you are proud of. You will be surrounded by a great team enabling you to thrive and really make a difference to others.
Our office opening hours are Monday – Friday 08:00 – 19:00 and Saturdays 09:00 – 12:00 and you could work a variety of shifts within these times. (Evenings and Saturdays are fairly split amongst the team).
About you
This role is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering the highest levels of customer service. You will have previous experience of working in a telephone based role, have personal resilience due to the fast paced and sometimes complex nature of the calls that you will take, including discussing personal or sensitive health issues. You will also have confidence, fantastic communication skills and are comfortable working independently but will also thrive as part of a team.
Application support
If you could benefit from having any additional support with your application for whatever reason, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the Personnel Services Team in confidence so that we can discuss it further. We are happy to help in any way we can.
We are all different, be yourself and thrive
WPA is a not for profit environmentally friendly organisation whose ethos is treating others as we would like to be treated including our fabulous team, customers, and local community. We hire great people; we believe in everyone and recognise that individual differences is what makes our team stronger.
