Customer Service & Shop Assistant – Queenstown Bike Hub

About the role

Love working with people and enjoy a hands-on role? Join Around The Basin at our Queenstown Bike Hub and help customers make the most of their day on the trails.

You’ll be involved in everything from checking in riders and answering enquiries to fitting bikes and explaining routes. This is an active, customer-facing role that combines shop administration with practical, outdoor work. Weekend availability is essential.

What you’ll be doing

• Welcoming customers and checking them in for their rides
• Answering emails and phone calls, and helping with booking enquiries
• Fitting customers onto bikes and getting them ready to ride
• Providing clear trail briefings, directions and advice on ride options
• Communicating with our drivers and wider team by radio
• Assisting with bike returns and keeping the shop and equipment organised
• Supporting the team with daily tasks to keep everything running smoothly

What we’re looking for

• A friendly, reliable person with strong customer service and communication skills
• Confidence around bikes and a willingness to get stuck in
• Good organisation and attention to detail, including during busy periods
• Confidence using computers, email and booking systems
• Willingness to learn our local trails and explain them clearly to customers
• Someone comfortable with an active role involving standing, moving and handling bikes
• Availability to work weekends
• The legal right to work in New Zealand

Around The Basin helps visitors and locals explore Queenstown’s trails through bike hire, self-guided rides and shuttle transport. Our Queenstown Bike Hub is a busy starting point for a great day out, and our team plays a big part in making every customer feel welcome, informed and ready to ride.
