Customer Service and Sales Administrator - Fixed Term

About the role

This is a fixed-term position providing parental leave cover, based at our Nelson manufacturing facility. Switch Lighting is a New Zealand designer and manufacturer of architectural LED lighting, and our Customer Service & Sales Administrator plays an important role in supporting our customers and wider team.

This is a varied, hands-on role providing responsive and practical customer solutions, alongside sales order processing and operational administration, while working closely with our Sales, Production and Stores & Dispatch teams.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to customer enquiries promptly and professionally, providing accurate product and order information.
• Provide practical customer solutions, using sound problem-solving skills and an understanding of the sales process.
• Process customer purchase orders accurately in our ERP system and ensure relevant documentation is provided to Production and Dispatch.
• Keep customers informed on the progress of their orders and proactively resolve or escalate any issues.
• Work closely with our Lighting Consultants and Sales Representatives to help deliver a great customer experience.
• Assist with quoting, pricing queries, indent orders, export documentation and other sales administration as required.
• Provide hands-on support to our Stores & Dispatch team during busy periods and for leave cover.

About you

• Previous experience in customer service, sales administration, order processing or a similar role.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and comfortable learning ERP and product systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Confident working with numbers, pricing and product information.
• A practical problem solver with a positive, can-do approach.
• A genuine customer-first attitude.
• A strong team player who is happy to roll up their sleeves and help wherever required.
