What they need

About Computaleta

Computaleta has been supplying the sign and graphics industry in New Zealand for over 40 years, distributing world-leading brands and innovative solutions to signage, print, and graphics businesses nationwide.

We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service and practical products that help our customers bring their creativity to life. With branches across New Zealand, our teams work closely together to provide reliable support, industry expertise, and trusted partnerships.

Signage and print companies choose to work with us because we represent leading brands, offer expert advice, act with integrity, and consistently deliver on our promises.

About the Role

Based at our Onehunga branch, this is a varied, customer-facing role that combines customer service, trade counter sales, internal sales, and administration.

As the face of our branch, you'll build strong relationships with customers, manage enquiries and orders, and proactively support sales growth through regular customer contact and follow-up. You'll work closely with Account Managers, the Warehouse team, suppliers, and other departments to ensure customers receive outstanding service and timely solutions.

This role would suit someone who enjoys building relationships, takes ownership of their work, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales Support

  • Manage the trade counter and provide exceptional service to customers in person, by phone, and via email.
  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently using Microsoft Business Central.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with an allocated portfolio of customers through regular outbound contact.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend suitable products and services.
  • Follow up quotations and sales opportunities to help convert them into orders.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge and identify cross-selling opportunities.
  • Process customer credits, supplier returns, and consignment stock orders when required.
  • Resolve customer issues efficiently, escalating where necessary and keeping customers informed.
  • Support sales and marketing activities, customer communications, and branch initiatives.

Teamwork & Operations

  • Work closely with Account Managers, Warehouse staff, suppliers, and colleagues to deliver excellent customer outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate customer and order information within company systems.
  • Ensure the showroom and trade counter are clean, tidy, organised, and well-stocked.
  • Assist with warehouse and stock control activities as required.
  • Support general administration tasks, including cash handling and banking.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support other teams when needed.

About You

We're looking for someone who brings energy, initiative, and a strong customer focus to everything they do.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous customer service experience (essential).
  • Sales support, trade counter, or internal sales experience (preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A warm, friendly, and professional manner.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of tasks.
  • Confidence building relationships with customers and identifying sales opportunities.
  • Good computer skills and the ability to learn new systems.
  • The ability to lift and move cartons or stock when required.

What's in it for You?

  • Join a stable, successful New Zealand business with over 40 years in the industry.
  • Supportive team culture and collaborative working environment.
  • Profit-share opportunities.
  • Ongoing training and product development.
  • A varied role with plenty of customer interaction and opportunities to grow your sales skills.
  • The chance to work with leading brands in the signage and graphics industry.
