About the role
This role involves coordinating shipments and managing sales activities for a logistics or freight forwarding operation. You will work with clients, overseas agents, carriers, brokers, and consolidators to ensure smooth shipment processing and business development.
Key responsibilities
- Inquire standard and special rates/charges from overseas agents, carriers, brokers, truckers and consolidators
- Prepare and send out proposals to clients within parameters and organize adequate follow-up
- Coordinate and book shipments with clients, overseas agents, coloaders/carriers, and brokers
- Ensure proper endorsement and shipment coordination with the operations department
- Conduct telesales for moving and non-moving accounts
- Assist the customer service department on job-related duties as assigned by the Sales/Customer Service team
